Dana Lynn Harper is a multimedia sculptural artist based in Columbus, Ohio. She has also been the recipient of an ArtPrize Artist Seed Grant, The ArtFile Emerging Artist Grant, Ringholz Foundation Award, OAC Professional Award and Manifest Prize. She has featured in solo exhibitions across the US, most notably at The University of Kentucky, Front/ Space Gallery & Museum in Kansas City, MO, Manifest Gallery and ROY G BIV. Harper has been an Artist in Residence at Kutztown University, Teton Art Lab, Bunker Projects, Second Sight Studio, Sculpture Space and ArtSpace Raleigh. Harper also works as an educator at the Columbus College of Art and Design.
Drawing inspiration from Catholic candelabras, altars, and sacred architecture, her sculptures take shape as ritualistic votive offerings, merging familial legacy with spiritual regality. Activated by ritual gestures; lighting candles, placing fresh flowers or filling vessels with offerings, she creates a living site of ceremony and collective remembrance.
